This very talented Author has wrote so many books, but is a New York Times Best Seller for The Beautifully Broken series! This new book is very different from those, this is a young adult paranormal! If you guys don't know, I LOVE paranormal!! I can't wait to share my review with you all! Starting to day on the Author's birthday Courtney Cole, her book is available in stores! Add it to your good reads today by clicking here and keep reading to see how to win a signed copy! :)

Synopsis: CLICK FOR EXCERPT

Sometimes, things that go bump in the night are real.
My name is Whitney Lane. I’m sixteen years old and at first, I thought I was crazy. I kept seeing shadows move along walls, and hearing whispers around corners, but whenever I looked, there was never anything there.  Until one day, there was. Our world isn’t what we think.  There are things around us, good things, bad things, scary things. Things that we tell ourselves aren’t real, but they are. They’re very real, and they’re terrifying. I’ve been swept up now, in a battle of good and evil, confused about love and what is supposed to be love, but isn’t.  I don’t know what to think anymore.  I can’t trust my emotions and I don’t know what is true. There’s only one thing I know for sure. Nothing is what it seems.

Now Available At:

 Barnes and Noble(Coming Soon) | Amazon | Kobo | iTunes | iBooks

ABOUT COURTNEY COLE:

Courtney Cole is a novelist who would eat mythology for breakfast if she could. She has a degree in Business, but has since discovered that corporate America is not nearly as fun to live in as fictional worlds. She loves chocolate and roller coasters and hates waiting and rude people.

Courtney lives in quiet suburbia, close to Lake Michigan, with her real-life Prince Charming, her ornery kids (there is a small chance that they get their orneriness from their mother) and a small domestic zoo.

Hello my fellow book lovers,

If you guys aren't aware, go on this page to learn more about the readathon I am participating in through Instagram! If you know all about it already, then just keep reading! :)

So far out of the ten book I plan on reading I've only read three.. I know that doesn't sound good, but I've been so swamped! Actually no, not really. I've been addicted to Criminal Minds, which is sort of like being really busy.. Right? (Raise your hands, if you love criminal minds *raising hands guiltily*)

The three books I have finished are In Time, Sweet Filthy Boy, and Run To You (Review should be on my page, just hasn't been linked yet).  Hope you're all doing better than I am if you joined!

The book I am currently reading is an ARC for the sweetest Author, I've ever had the pleasure of speaking to. I will definitely have more information on her and the book, on this post or below.

Title: Run To You Part 1: First Sight
Author: Clara Kensie
Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal
Rating: 5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

This is the first book I’ve read by Clara Kensie. While I DO NOT have any problems with the book it’s self, I problems with the amount of book there are in this series..
Let me start off by telling you: This book is amazing!! It is the first book of six. Yes, six books, and it’s only 110 pages long. (way too short for me) Within the sixteen chapters there was definitely some character development from the main characters. I loved how interesting and fast pace the book started! It feels like you just got thrown into it, but not where you are confused and cannot understand what’s going on.
I absolutely love the way the character thought. She’s so selfless, and smart. She truly cares so much about everyone else around her but she also know when to put her foot down and stand up for herself. Some where deep inside of her hidden is a badass. I loved the dialogue and relationship between the family. The plot, and what it is all focused around. It just makes the whole book so suspenseful and entertaining. I must admit, I was on edge for half the book, and the other half I was just melting away in a puddle of mush. This has one of the cutest and most innocent romance in all the history of books! And don’t you just love books like that? Where the guy is clearly a good guy, and respects her and you can truly see he cares for her beyond belief.
Over all, I loved this book so much. It was pure beauty from beginning to end. Completely captivating me and leaving me craving for more. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy paranormal, and romance! I can’t wait to read the rest of the books. I truly wished there weren’t six books that are all 110 pages. I’d truly appreciate 3 normal length books! But other than that, I’m truly happy with this read, I think it’s underrated and everyone should check it out!! :)

Title: Sweet Filthy Boy
Author: Christina Lauren
Genre: Adult, Romance
Rating: 3.5 - 4 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

I’ve been eyeing this book for the longest at Target, picking it up and then putting it back down repeating that process for months. Then finally one night, I just decided to buy it on my Nook on impulse. I’ve never read anything by Christina Lauren until this, and I can genuinely say I enjoy her writing and this book to know I’ll definitely be reading more of her work, and am counting down the days until the companion novel to this series Dirty Rowdy Thing is released.
The story started off really strong, I loved it. I really enjoyed the dialogue of this book, mostly in the beginning. I found myself blushing and squirming at how cute and flirty they both were! Their chemistry was just unbelievable. They got along so well, and he just shocked me at every turn. I enjoyed the whole book, was captivated from the start. Loving Mia’s (the main character) and her two best friend which remind me so much of my two best friends. One completely wild and irrational. The other a lot more rational, and mommy like. Keeping both me and my “whorelow” in check! I loved the lover in this book, Ansel’s one of the best book boyfriends I’ve ever read about. The title is complete fitting for him, because you can really only describe him as sweet and filthy.. ;) This guy is a complete package, handsome beyond belief, french, is an attorney and has the most charismatic personality.

Even though, I enjoyed the whole book, doesn’t mean there are parts I didn’t enjoy. I can seem to choose what I want to rate this 3.5 or 4. It seems a bit unfair to the books I’ve rated 4, and a bit offensive to this book if I rate it 3.5.. Like I said early, the book is great, started off strong, cute, funny, but the last twenty five percent of it is very disappointing.. Like always there’s a falling out, and I felt like there wasn’t even a moment where they talked about it, tried to fix it WITHOUT SEX. Like talking doesn’t work for these two.. It’s a bit shallow.. She just took him back with out even talking anything out, after making a huge debacle in both their lives. Don’t feel discouraged not to read this! I enjoyed the book a lot, and really liked it. I just wish the way things were handled could be different. I definitely think it’s a good read, and I can’t wait for the companion novel!

Title: In Time (The Darkest Minds Series - Book #1.5)
Author: Alexandra Bracken
Genre:Young Adult
Rating: 2 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Mini Review:
I love Alexandra Brackens writing! I completely idolize her as an Author, and before I picked this up I’ve heard such great things. Everyone kept bragging about the depth of the book and emotion it carried! How beautiful and sad it is but I didn’t feel that at all. I was highly disappointed. I wanted so bad to feel what everyone did. I couldn’t seem to wrap my brain about what everyone found so interesting. I thought the book was boring, and a waste of time. There are seven chapter in the book, and first five chapters are backstory and mostly his thoughts and some (very little) interaction with others.. There are only about three significant things you need to learn about the book. (Those things aren’t even that important) I felt all the “important” stuff could have been summed up in two chapters. I still love her, and her writing, I had no problem with the writing in the book, it was great and vivid like The Darkest Minds, the content was just lacking.

Title: Within These Walls
Author: J.L Berg
Genre: Adult
Rating: 3.5 | 5

Synopsis: Good Reads

Mini Review:

This is my first book by J.L Berg and I absolutely enjoyed it! I found it entertaining, witty, and very very cute! I can’t saw I loved it. I didn’t like some parts and somethings in the book..
The plot was great, I just feel like the book could have been better. At some points in the book I was so confused. The guy is way TOO broken, and the girl is way to naive, forgiving, and the love just happened so fast. For a guy who is “heart broken” and can’t fall in love again he definitely fell in love with in days of meeting her. That I didn’t like nor understand.. I definitely couldn’t connect with the characters. The book seemed a little to cliche too at some points.

Other than those things, everything in the middle was great. I loved their love, everything was so cute and innocent.. Sort of ;) They definitely make a great couple. The writing wasn’t all that great. Still I did like it! I found “Jude’s” point of view to be way too dramatic for a guy. Half of the time I felt like he was a whiney girl, but still very sexy and masculine.. Overall, I very much enjoyed the book. Read if it you will, I didn’t hate it. I thought it was very good :) Read the synopsis, and take a leap! Enjoy!!

Within these walls, he became my solace, my sanctuary and my strength.

I am not strong.  I am just a survivor of circumstance.
Isn’t that what we all do?  Survive?

Each of us has our own set of circumstances to muddle through.  Mine are just more…complicated.

Born with a severe heart defect, I’ve seen the inside of a hospital room more than my own bedroom.

I was drowning, a prisoner to the illness that owned me, until he appeared.  He thinks he’s blocked out the world with his tattoos and hard exterior, but I see the real Jude, the one he so desperately wants to forget.

But is he the answer to my prayers or will he break my already damaged heart forever?

My name is Lailah Buchanan, and this is our story of hope, redemption and sacrificing it all for the one you love.

Title: Beautiful Oblivion
Author: Jamie McGuire
Genre: New Adult
Rating: 5 | 5

Synopsis: Good Reads

Review: IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BEAUTIFUL SERIES.. YOU SHOULD.

Jamie McGuire is a writing queen, one of my biggest inspirations along with so many other Authors. Not only does she create such a captivating story, she paints it for you. I’ve read a good amount of her books to say they never disappoint. I’ve never given any of her books less than five stars because they’re all phenomenal. And I know in the future for her future books, I’ll just continue to rave about them, because they too will be five star books!
I’ve read all the previous books in the ‘Beautiful Series’ and I completely loved them all. I fell in love with Travis, his family, and just loved the crazy chaotic love between he and Abby! But… I think I loved Trent and Cami’s story just the same.. (Who am I kidding, I love it so much more!) It has a completely different vibe from the previous book in the Beautiful series. Those books took place in college, and the characters were both nine-teen year old kids. Cami and Trenton are bout twenty something, she’s in college, but they’re Adults. They both have experience and he knowledge to handle things a bit more maturely. I loved the chase in this book, how it started off as a friendship and just slowly progressed. It was so wonderful!

  • Not only has Trent stole the title of ‘Favorite Maddox’ from Travis but he stole my heart! (Maybe it's a tie.. -__- ) He’s so different, he’s caring, sensitive and very understanding. Definitely not as reckless as Travis, and has control over his emotions, sometimes.. He may not be the most successful and is struggling a bit in some areas, but he has his heart in the right place and he works hard!
  • Cami, is a bad bitch! (Excuse my foul language..) But she is, and there isn’t another word to describe her besides that. She’s so tough, and is tatted in all the rebellious places a girl wouldn’t normally have tattoos at. She isn’t whiny either or doesn’t know what she wants and takes years to figure it out.. She’s a go getter, works for what she wants and I love that about her. She’s independent, sarcastic, sweet and is completely loyal to everyone.

You also get to see Travis and Abby from Cami’s point of view. And parts where Travis would disappear upset and go to Red. — I love the damn Maddox Family! They’re so entertaining, and they are all so hot (most likely..) I really hope there is a book coming up for every single brother. I can’t wait meet them all! I’m so happy with the turn out of the book, I don’t think it could have been any better. Cami’s hiding something. (Usually in all these books someone always is, right?) AND I LOVED that she didn’t make it into a huge deal — she didn’t let her secret stop her from being happy. She followed her heart and didn’t give a damn about what people thought. The plot twist, was insane!! Complete and utter find fuck. I was just staring like ‘No.. Wait What?!’ and then looking back I should have known. It was right in front of my face. McGuire basically told us like 47593029x times in the book but she hid it good and I’m just still very in awe with this.

I HIGHLY recommend this to everyone. If you haven’t read the Beautiful Series, I suggest you do! Travis and Abby are just as amazing as Trenton, and Cami. I just happened to like Trent and Cami more because they were less drama. (Don’t get me wrong, I love my drama ;] ) Can I give this book six stars? Or no.. Because it definitely deserves more than five..

Title: Since You've Been Gone
Author: Morgan Matson
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary
Rating: 5 | 5

Synopsis: Good Reads

Review: Bookish Beauties Book Club pick for August! :)

I don’t know how to explain the feeling this book gave me without repeating myself. While I find ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ to be completely different (plots, characters, etc..) from ‘Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour’ I had felt the exact same way I did after finishing it.
The book is another Self-Discovery book, which if you read my last review I completely love. This one is different though, she isn’t trying to find her “old” self but try to be her self. Find her own happiness, and independence. Emily’s a shy girl always has been, and after being the shadow to her best friend that’s gone and left she tries to  find herself. She becomes more confident, and happier than she ever thought she could be. Making new friends in unexpected ways while creating epic memories from their adventures.
I have fallen in love with every single character from this story. I love Sloane and how adventurous she was. Always wanting to do something new and fun, she and I shared that along with our sense of style, and unreserved/outgoing personalities. Emily is still a very relatable character and such a wonderful one too. I hated to see her so closed off and scared/nervous in the beginning. It was so sad to me, that she’s so shy and lost without Sloane.  Emily's character development was flawless, slow and easy. I loved that every time she finished a task from the list you could feel her self confidence rising and I'm so happy to have been a witness to it. Collins, was such a great character —funny, friendly, and just silly! I REALLY wish there was an epilogue to this book. I would have loved to witness her a few years from now with her friends!
I don’t even think I have to say it.. It’s a bit unnecessary since you should know this is a book I would recommend to everyone! It was so good, and I am just in awe with her writing. Everything is so perfectly sculpted, the characters, setting, and dialogue. You guys should definitely check out ALL of her books, they're the perfect summer reads! :)

Title: Amy and Roger's Epic Detour
Author: Morgan Matson
Genre: Young Adult
Rating: 5 | 5

Synopsis: Good Reads

Review:

I've always been a hopeless romantic. Always looking for new books where the guy automatically falls for the girl or vise versa. The cheesy, overly lovey ones. What can I say I love, love? I came into this book really expecting a love story. Two kids going on a road trip, he likes her and bam they fall in love. It isn’t that. Nope, not this book. This was a self discovery book. I don't know what it is about these books that just pulls at my heart and gets me all emotional. Maybe it’s because I know how it feels to feel lost. It's about the Amy (the main character) finding her old self after a lost she thought she could never overcome. Forgiving herself, and making herself a better person.
Just reading this story was touching and beautiful. I finally felt like I was going somewhere and doing something great, but it wasn't me it was Amy. Everything is so well described and it just flows off the page and turns into clear images. And that’s the beauty in Morgan Matson’s writing. She gets you to feel the character and live through them. You become the protagonist. My favorite part is the road trip aspect. How nothing was permanent. Ever since I read ‘The Edge Of Never’ by J.A. Redmerski I fell in love with the idea of a road trip. With one other person, just us and the long winding enigma in the roads ahead.
Overall, I am extremely happy how everything played out. The pictures in the book just added more to realism and gave your more of a emotional attachment to the book. It added such a great touch. — Is it just me though? That felt a little cheated in the end, I really wish there was an Epilogue. Other than that, I'm extremely happy. I couldn't find a more perfect book this month. I can't wait to dive into her book ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ I hear we learn a little something about the characters from Amy and Roger! So at least I'll feel some closure. I highly recommend this to everyone!!

Hey Guys :)

I think this might actually be my first 'Book Haul' post! I am so excited to do this post and start doing this on my blog! I've got so many wonderful things today, especially great deals on books!

First, I've been impatiently waiting for my local Target (which I live right next to) to get 'Opposition' By Jennifer Armentrout in stock. Days past and they still did not have it. Since I was going to another store about fifteen minutes away I'd decided to check out the target in the Plaza area there and found Opposition! For guess how much?? FOR $7 that's how much! That's such a great deal, way better than amazon! (Which is usually where I get my books from!) 'Ugly Love' By Colleen Hoover was also purchased from there, but belongs to my sister. She and I usually share our books which is why this is also in the picture. In the same Plaza area I went to Marshall's, and I know they sometimes carry books. Usually the books they do have are not in good condition. They're usually wet, torn, or just poorly handled. But these three were beautiful and in such great condition! :) I got 'Someone Like You' By Sarah Dessen for $2 which is a freaking steal! I also haven't read any of her books, and I'm really excited to start this one! Hopefully it isn't a second or third book in a series, that would greatly suck! I got the last two book in the 'Selection Series' by Kiera Cass for a great price as well! 'Elite' was $3 and 'One' which is a hard cover was $7! I don't own the first one yet, but I thought why pass up these deals when they'll never pop up again for this cheap! Am I right? Anywhooooo I really hope you guys enjoyed this! I will definitely do this more often! (Hopefully not to often, because my wallet and I might be crying soon..) OH, and those are my new Chinese Laundry shoes from DSW which remind me so much of the Valentino rock stud ballet flats, but just doesn't break the bank like those normally would! ;)

Maybe I'll just get straight to the point next time. Telling you what store, and how much instead of telling you a story! Heehee!

Happy Reading (:

Title: Amy & Roger's Epic Detour
Author: Morgan Matson
Synopsis: Good Reads

There has been so much hype surrounding this book for the past couple months. I swear everywhere I turned this book was there, twitter, instagram, the mall, people outside, some friends, online friends. It was just surrounding me. So I decided that it was a sign from the book gods for me to read this. And I am so happy with the outcome so far! The book is so great, there isn't a "romance" part between the characters. Maybe, there never will be or maybe it's later on in the book but I'm extremely happy with what I've read so far. If the characters just become best friends than great! For right now, I feel like that's what they both need. Another human being to lean on to. Some one who won't let them down! I've enjoyed the characters, and the road trip aspects. I can't wait to continue this! :)

Title: Since You've Been Gone
Author: Morgan Matson
Synopsis: Good Reads

Obviously I'm a terrible Book Club host because I haven't even started this book yet. I do however plan on starting it this weekend. I'm currently obsessing with Amy and Rogers Epic Detour so I'm not even sure how this is going to work out! :) I've heard such great things from other members, everyone has been loving it so far! I do have a problem with the long chapter! UGH why do they even make long chapters. Hope you all have a wonderful reading month and that you join us when ever you can for discussions for the book!

Title: Black Ice
Author: Becca Fitzpatrick
Genre: Young Adult, Suspense
Rating: 4.5 | 5

Synopsis: Good Reads

Review: EXPECTED TO BE RELEASED - October 7, 2014
When I read, I usually wish to be the characters and to completely feel them and live their world. I didn’t have to wish in this book. I was Britt, and fuck did I feel every single emotion she was being carried through. Every fear, and shortness of breathe I felt, just as she. I started this book hating the main character, but her character development is one of the strongest one’s I’ve ever read about. The writing in this book is so vivid and detailed so well. From the dust in the cabin, from the way the air prickled her skin. The romance is so amazing, it wasn’t over powering, just right.
There’s a sense of beauty and rawness in the enigma of the book. Something so different from any other book I’ve read. So many things are happening at once. So many and it’s so hard to keep up, it gets so overwhelming.. I remember reading half way through and halting. The whole book is exhausting (if the best way). The plot twist are so AMAZING, I swear you never see them coming and when it finally comes it just SLAPS you across the face.
Over all, I loved the book so much. I couldn’t put it down once I picked it up. From the first page I was intrigued. By the third paragraph I was captivated. I wish you all luck trying to contain your emotions while reading. I really enjoyed it, and highly recommend this. I apologize for the vagueness of my review, I jus didn’t want to give anything away since it is a mystery/thriller novel. I loved the way it ended, I thought the last two chapters were so great. I highly suggest this to everyone! So…. What are you waiting for? PRE-ORDER it now! ;)

Title: How To Love
Author: Katie Cotugno
Genre: Young Adult(ish)
Rating: 4.5 | 5

Synopsis: Good Reads

Review:

This book is VERY different from a lot of book I've read. I love it, I was captivated and in tears by the end of the first chapter. And from there, I knew I was done for.

The pace of the book is different, in a oddly good way. It wasn't slow, or fast but just right. I didn't feel like the book was leading up to anything the
whole time. There wasn't a climax the book was trying to build for. There was just a lot of pain, so many heart breaking parts in this book. Chapter by chapter, I felt like pieces of me were being taken. And later, I wasn't going to be left with much. The Author has this profound way of writing where she makes you feel everything. Every emotion that flowed through the pages, will flow through you. The writing is beautiful, so very good from description to the dialogue. I love it all.

Reena, is such a strong protagonist. But I guess that's what mother hood does right? It makes you stronger, not just for yourself but for the child mostly. This book hit closer to home than anything. I was on the edge of tears as I read this book, every so pages making me break down. The main guy, in the book won't make you swoon.. At least not in the "before" chapters.. But sooner or later, you'll understand his decisions and choice. He did it so he could be better, for them.

Over all, I'm so happy with this read. And I'm sorry if the review wasn't that great. This is one of  the hardest reviews I've ever done. Hopefully you will all check out the book! It really is such a beautiful love story. I recommend this for anyone who is okay with a book not having a climax, or a build up to anything where you're just reading and relaxing.. It's an easy read, you don't have to constantly worry about the protagonist dying because she's rebelling against the government. Just be careful of all the emotions!

Happy Reading! :)
