Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Yep, you aren't hallucinating, you're looking at the official cover for Volition and it's gorgeous!! Huge thanks to the talented Sarah Hansen of Okay Creations. This is  one of the most beautiful covers I've ever seen. I can't wait to have it in my hands, and just hug it and love it! The Empire State building is such a beautiful touch, and brings the cover to the next level. The cover is dark, beautiful enigma.

Back Cover Description:

You know that feeling in the pit of your stomach that stays with you, then tears you apart slowly at first, and all at once shreds every fiber of your being?
It’s because you’re contradicting the universe.
Everything lines up so perfectly that you couldn’t have imagined it to work out any better, but then you have to go and do everything humanly possible to ruin it because you can’t stand to have it go right?
That’s what I did.
I did it because there’s a darkness that surrounds me, and I think I want it there. My name is Tate McKenna, and my soul is blacker than my heart.

Excerpt #1:

Right now it’s not enough to have just a little bit of Hayden.
I want all of him.
I want to be engulfed by him.
I want him to set me on fire and burn me until I’m nothing but ashes.
And then I want him to set a flame to those ashes, because he’s the only one who

can.

Excerpt #2:

I look up into the sky to see all of the drops falling on the ground before they make contact. I realize the drops have more in common with me than I think. We’re all just falling until we’re not falling, and we don’t really have a choice where we land.

What others thought:

"A read that will keep you on your toes until the very end. Genius!" - Makayla (The Book Life)

"This is a twisted tale... that you can relate to." - Bryce (Novels to Song)

“Beautifully twisted...A novel that shocks and surprises, and is not your typical love story. A gripping read filled with complex characters, dark humor and lyrical writing that leaves you wanting more! Paradis produced a story that carried a lot of emotion that dealt with love, relationships, and the darkness that surrounds death and the mark it leaves on those who have escaped it.” - Ashley F. (Falling Down the Book Hole)

"The story was lined with black and drowned in glitter... Volition is one of those books that makes you reflect on life's past, present, and future." - Abbey (Books a la Mode)

"I could not put this beautiful and dark tale of Tate McKenna down! Be with her as she discovers the impact that free will, fate and the act of letting go can have on a person!” - Jaclyn (Living in a World of Book Quotes)

Hiii loves,

It has been so long since I've been on here.. I'm so sad to have been off for so long, but it isn't because I've lost interest. For the past two months I've been in this really bad book slump. I feel like it happens every year around this time where I just lose interest in reading and going through this huge book buying phase. God help me because it this is going to be a repeat of last year, I might just cry. Physically and mentally, I've been great. Nothing too special going on. I hope the same for you all, that everyone is nice and healthy and had a great thanks giving (if you celebrate) if not, well I hope you had a nice day off! I didn't want to end this year with a bunch of new books I'm cramming into one month. So I am going to stick with the four books I've been trying to finish since October.. (dec tbr here) Then I will spend the next year trying to start fresh and try to read a lot more. I guess I really just need to find the motivation.. I've still be pretty active in the book world, you can find me on twitter or instagram both at: @alluringtales. For some new things, I don't know if you guys knew but I have a booktube account. The last time I posted was in May probably and I'm really missing that and thinking of getting my back into it.. So we'll see how that goes, but for now this blog and my reading is my number one focus. I love this blog so much and I don't see myself moving on ever. Let's pray to the book gods my slump goes away! Happy reading, and hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday!! <3

Title: The Beautiful Ashes
Author: Jeanine Frost
Genre: New Adult, Paranormal
Rating: 3 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:
I’ve never read anything by Jeaniene Frost. I’ve heard so many people love her other series and swear it's one of the best they’ve ever read but were disappointed by this book. Those comments did not alter my decision for picking this book up. I didn’t set any standards after hearing that. I’ve read reviews on the book saying how great it was and other saying it was terrible basically people either loved it or hated it.

The book has this odd writing that I certainly wasn’t a fan of. It didn’t bother me to the point where I couldn’t continue reading but it definitely bugged me. Her writing is descriptive, but it just didn’t flow. I couldn’t get a grasp of the mc (main character) or connect. Her thoughts were irrelevant to her sister, the girl was like a walking horn dog.. The whole point of the story and everything she does is to save her sister, but I’m pretty positive Ivy forgot that along the way.

Let’s be honest, the girl really only wanted Adrian hmcg (hot main character guy) I’m not going to lie he sounded hot, but also really generic. “Strong brows, a straight nose, high cheekbones and a sensual mouth made up a face that was striking enough to adorn billboards.” “Body of thore, light brown hair with blonde streaks and silvery blue eyes.” Like cool, nice to know he’s hot but can we get some personality please. I didn’t see much of his personality.. Most of the time he was fighting his “urges” for her, or scowling and those rare moments where he showed he cared about her. There just wasn’t enough actual nice interaction for them to be in love with each other. BUT I’m not a love expert so what do I know.

There definitely wasn’t a dull chapter, every chapter kept me wanting to read more. There was all this new interesting information being thrown at you but then about seventy five percent after you're into the book it just goes down hill.. The huge “scene” that was suppose to be suspenseful but wasn’t. The part where “they part” wasn’t sad. It just started to feel dull after a certain point. There was all this great build up but nothing when the time came. It felt like a balloon being blown up and then deflating instead of popping with awesomeness. I found myself reading in hopes I’d finish soon. My over all thoughts? The book could have been so much better! The idea of the book and topic is great. I think the beginning of it was constructed so well. I'm not pleased with the writing, but I got over it. I wish the last couple chapters were better, and I want more love between the characters. I wasn’t sold on them being in love. I didn’t get that vibe, I got horny young adults vibe.. I will continue on with the series with hope that it gets better and that we see more personality from the characters. Good luck, and happy reading!

Title: Pushing The Limits
Author: Katie McGarry
Genre: YA, Contemporary
Rating: 4.5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:
Personally I detest it when two equally broken people get together in books. I don’t see any good ever coming out of it.. Well sometimes, yes. But usually their story continues to become multiple books and by the end of the second one I just wanna yell: “Stop!! For the sake of the characters! Stop, putting them in damn pain! They have suffered enough!” I thought this was going to be like that..
I wasn’t completely in love with the book when I first started. It just didn’t grab me at all. It definitely took me a few chapters to finally get into the book.. But once I did, damn it got good! Katie McGarry is definitely a phenomenal writer. I think dual chapters are difficult to do, it has a fifty, fifty percent survival rate in a book. It can either make or break your book, in this case it made it!! Through out the whole thing the book played in my head flawlessly. One minute I was staring at Echo and feeling the profound love Noah felt for her, then the next moment I was Echo seeing her family, feeling the hatred, and insecurity running through her veins.
  • Echo: Is one of the best transitioned characters I’ve ever read about. It was definitely a pleasure to get into her head a feel it all through her. In the beginning you could feel exactly how lost and insecure she was. There were small burst of confidence that showed when she was around Noah, and slowly the more time she spent with him she grew. You could feel her spirits rise and she was getting better.
  • Noah: Wow, once good boy, turn bad, then good again? That is a mouth full and definitely complicated. I completely adore noah not just for his complete and utter adoration for Echo but his loyalty to his brothers. He was able to grow up and finally see what was best, and he gave everyone a happy ending. He was everyones glue. It pretty much all boiled down to him and the choices he made. Noah was so angry and frustrated in the beginning and then he slowly became calmer, and his loving side showed. But like Echo her strength didn’t show without him, and vise versa. And he's definitely swoony, hot and says all the right things.

I am so in love with this book. I completely adore it and just want to hug it and sleep next to ti!! I love how in most contemporaries I’ve read they’re usually “fluffly” with a bit of side problem nothing major or hear wrenching like this!  I like that this was scary - emotionally, and that Echo pointed out that Noah was hot, but not SO MUCH like in other books! Some advice? Prepare yourself for ugly crying, lots of it happy and sad. Katie McGarry definitely wrote a beautiful book, with beautiful characters that I highly recommend you read! <33

Title: The Merciless
Author: Danielle Vega
Genre: Young Adult | Mature Audience | Morbid
Rating: 3.5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:
I am very impressed with Danielle Vega. I really enjoyed this, she kept me interested throughout the entire book. The beginning definitely reels you in, it’s one of those books where you don’t wanna stop reading until you finish. Because you need to know what happens next. All the characters, side and main are so intriguing. I love how to detailed it is. I didn't have trouble imagining the things being said and done, at some parts you sort of wish you couldn’t imagine it, that the Author wasn’t so detailed..
  • Sofia: I really don’t like the main character at all. I found her to be spineless, weak, easily manipulated, judgey, and a follower. Just someone I would not like at all. She was so desperate to make new friends and “forget her past” she couldn’t see what was right in her face. She’s easily pressured into doing things she does not want to do, and soon regrets it after. She’s the girl who doesn’t know how to say no. What I don’t understand is if I’m reading from the main characters point of view and I can see the signs of crazy from the people around her, how come she can’t? I just don't get it… UGH I feel as if it's missing something, and I didn't like or connect with the main character.
The book is gruesome, twisted, and fucked up. I don’t think I can count on all my fingers and toes the amount of times I said “what the fuck” because you will say it. Probably not those exactly words but something close to it. The book reminded me so much of a twisted Mean Girls. I don’t know if I recommend this book, because you should read the synopsis and definitely make your own claim.
The book is like a  horror film. Is very entertaining, but like a scary movie there isn’t a purpose, moral, or lesson to the story. It was simply to entertain and scare. I didn’t find the book scary at all, just morbid. I won't ever be rereading this book again so personally it wasn't worth the $18 I spent. If you decide to read this: great, I hope you enjoy it! :)

Title: Stay With Me
Author: Jennifer Armentrout writing as J.Lynn
Genre: New Adult | Semi-Adult
Rating: 5 | 5 shots ;)

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:
I’ve always been speechless when it came to Jennifer’s books. Actually wait no, that’s a lie. A ginormous lie because if you’ve been on my blog long you know I love her books and I pretty much can’t stop talking about them, praising her, and calling her Queen. Because let’s be honest, she is. She is the Queen writer of all hot men, angst, and steamy steamy things.
Captivated, bewitched, enthralled. I was grabbed by the collar and dragged in a delusion where this world became really all over again. Talk about being captivated, huh? Like all her books there was humor, wit, and charm. So much damn charm it can knock the panties off a nun. These characters were real and damn it seemed that way to me. It seemed so real. Her writing is exquisite and just gets better every time I read a new book of hers. I absolutely adore the characters:
  • Calla: She’s like a cookie. She’s really soft and sweet both inside and out, but she has this layer of badassery on the outside where you sort of don’t wanna get on her bad side. I adore her character because of her strength through out the whole book. She was definitely put through the ringer and stayed a champ throughout the whole thing. Like a normal person, she complained but sucked it up and made the best of the situation at hand. And let me tell you there were ALOT of situations going on in this girls life. At one point I just raised by arms and was like “Ok, someone give her a break. Send her to paradise because she needs it.” I like that she’s a really relatable character, she’s flawed, beautiful, smart, and driven! She has such a beautiful character development through out. She grew to be a beautiful flower. She started off as this small little bud hidden in the shadows. Then she met Jax - bright, beautiful, protective and he built her up. Slowly she started to grow, then fully blossom.
  • Jax: Jackson James, now if that name just doesn’t do it for you than I don’t know if anything ever will because that is freaking hot. He is freaking hot actually, beautiful BROWN eyes (Yes people, Jennifer Armentrout made poop colored eyes seem hot) dark luscious hair, and broad shoulders that are connected to the body of an Ex-Marine. I loved Jax, he is charming right off the bat and I just enjoyed the way he works. He’s so good to Calla, and their interactions are simply adorable. He’s very protective of her and not in a man cave kind of way, just safety. And the things you learn in the end are simply beautiful.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. I really really enjoyed it! The book seems a lot darker compared to the rest of the books in this series. The other were like unicorns compared to this, and I enjoy that about this book. It gave it realism. It has everything you expect from a Jennifer Armentrout book. It has the: wit, humor, steamy steamy, hot guys, cute couple, and happy ending. It’s beautifully written, and keeps you sleepless. I definitely recommend reading the Wait for you series from the beginning including the Trust in me novella. Hope you’ve all enjoyed this and happy reading! <3

About BURYING WATER:

The top-selling, beloved indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths returns with a new romance about a young woman who loses her memory—and the man who knows that the only way to protect her is to stay away.

Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him?

Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. This can’t be real . . . This can’t be real . . . This can’t be real . . .

The words cycle round and round in my mind like the wheels on my speeding ’Cuda as its ass-end slips and slides over the gravel and ice. This car is hard to handle on the best of days, built front-heavy and overloaded with horsepower. I’m going to put myself into one of these damn trees if I don’t slow down.

I jam my foot against the gas pedal.

I can’t slow down now.  (read more.. excerpt)

Title: Opposition (Lux #5)
Author: Jennifer Armentrout
Genre: Young Adult
Rating: 5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

It feels like yesterday I was reading Obsidian for the first time, and falling in love with all the characters. Not one book in this series disappointed me, and I am grateful to Jennifer Armentrout for making these characters. Like the Harry Potter series, those books mean a lot to everyone. And I’ve never read that series (I know, you wanna linch me now) but these books are that important to me. It’s always bitter sweet when something ends and even though I am sad to see all the characters go, they deserve a break from all the chaos.
It took me a bit longer than expected to finish this book. I was originally going to finish it in about a day, and I could of. If I didn’t hide it from myself and purposely leave the house so I wouldn’t read it. I just couldn’t bring myself to finish.. Like the rest of the Lux series, this is filled with passion, and action. What I love in this series is that the books always start off right from where the last one ended. The ending to Origin wasn’t necessarily a cliff hanger, but a jaw dropper. A what the french bull dog just happened! And honestly the rest of Opposition continued like that as well. So many times I found myself surprised and going “Uh, wait what?” or “Well that escalated quickly” which is always because Daemon. I don't know where, and I know you will agree with me on this but this book definitely took a turn into the steamy side of YA, because man did it start to feel a little New Adultish for me! I love new adult, so no complaints from me.

The characters didn’t stay the same, they all grew so much and changed dramatically. Their lives took such a different turn then expected but they were all so strong. I love the passion and chemistry between Daemon and Katy. They’re so in love and it’s so beautiful to see them both mature.. Well sort-of ;) I love Dawson, Dee, and all the new characters that were added to their little bandit of badassery. I loved that the series left me with no un answered questions. Each characters fate, was told. We were given clarity for all of them, and got to see them. Over all, I’m in love with this series. I’m juggling emotions of happiness and sadness because I don’t want it to end, but I don’t want them to go through anymore than they already have gone through. This is my all time favorite series, and has such a special place in my heart. I hope you all check out the book, and enjoy! After five books of our beloved characters being in Danger, they finally get the ending they all deserve. Every single one of them..

Title: Origin (Lux #4)
Author: Jennifer Armentrout
Genre: SWOONEY, Young Adult
Rating: 5 | 5 PURRRR-FECT

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

I’m going to apologize now. For this is going to be a short review, for the simple fact that I cannot say anymore without giving away any spoilers. This book in specific is the absolute definition of perfect. So, I hope you you’ve read the other books, if not just go and buy them all, and you can thank me later ;) You all know my feelings towards Jennifer Armentrout so I won’t even repeat myself, because well it isn’t necessary. But if you don’t I think she’s a Queen.
I did not think my face could get any redder, but it did. I was blushing like a girl talking to her crush for the first time. This book is absolutely adorable and definitely my favorite out of every single one of them. It started off so sad and rough and I could feel every single emotion they both went through. And that’s what Jennifer does, she makes you live through everything the character does. I love that the dual character point of view was continued in this! It is amazing! I don’t know about you, but every since Obsidian I’ve been dying to get into his head. I’ve been so dang curious to see what the perfect male specimen is thinking. The connection and love just ran so much stronger in this book. Their determination and love is just so beautiful. As always, there were so many hilarious parts and the new characters are amazing!!
The writing is perfect like ALWAYS. So swooney, witty, and sarcastic. I love ever single word and sentence being said. The book definitely took a turn somewhere in this book, and it went from somewhere in between young adult and new adult. If I thought the last book was steamy, clearly I was wrong. I felt such a strong connection with this book, I found myself crying during the cute/happy parts, and just bawling like baby during the devastating parts. I hope you all read this series if you haven’t. And if you are, I really hope you enjoy it as much as I am! You can read my review on the first three books here:  Obsidian (Lux #1) Onyx (Lux #2)  Opal (Lux#3)

Title: Opal (Lux #3)
Author: Jennifer Armentrout
Genre: Young Adult, STEAMY, AWESOME (haha)
Rating: 5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

There was definitely a lot of blushing on my end of the book, I mean I loved the chase in the first two books. All the angst and sexual tension was nice and all, but damn these two as a couple are too damn adorable. Then again, Daemon Black is part of that equation so what else did we expect right? I don’t think I have to say it AGAIN, but I will. I love love love love Jennifer Armentrout. She is definitely my number one favorite Author. She’s damn brilliant, I love every single thing about her writing. Every character she writes is different, and every book is pure gold.
This book definitely wasn’t as intense as the last one. It had its moments but wasn’t like Onyx where every single moment was like the characters were hanging by a thread over a cliff. This was a bit more calm, and steamy. *eyebrow wiggle* It was definitely more about their relationship with everyone and a lot of testing was being done with one another.. Going into this book I didn’t think the characters would change so much but they did. Daemon shows us his sensitive side, Dee’s angry (which is rare), Ash and Andrew have emotions (who knew right?) etc.. The writing and the dialogue is probably ever better than the first two books! UGH, I’m just obsessed with this series. I might need therapy when I finish the books.
This book is painful, not a spoiler but a warning. You’ll be in this happy place reading it, because they’re finally together, like together together. And you can tell their both in love and happy. Things in both their lives are getting better, friendships are starting to mend again. Then the book takes this turn, into a really dark place and you’re left like this: My only suggestion to you is to buy Origin before you finish this book, because you will want to jump right into it. Sorry for my vagueness in this review, I can’t really say much without giving anything away. But have a few rolls of tissues, booze, whatever will make you feel better. Like always I will forever recommend this series! If you haven’t read the first two books, you can read my review here: Obsidian (Lux #1) Onyx (Lux #2)

Title: Landline
Author: Rainbow Rowell
Genre: Adult, Contemporary
Rating: 3.5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Mini Review:

I absolutely like this book. It started off weak for me, and I couldn’t pick the book up for a full week because of the boredom I went through while trying to read the first few chapters. I had to stop and push myself to keep going. A lot of people I’ve spoken to said that it does get better, and they weren’t wrong. It did get better, not a lot better than the beginning but it improved. I really wish this book didn’t disappoint me, but I guess I was expecting too much. With a lot of Rainbow’s books I find myself bored in the first ten chapters, but after that it gets better. And to me, ten chapters is a lot, I would understand three, or even five to get us introduced to the world and appreciating it. BUT not ten. While I love Rainbow’s writing, I guess I just don’t appreciate her pace and maybe her books just aren’t for me. I guess I’m more of an Action loving kind of girl.
It  was very cute throughout the whole thing. It had great dialogue, but dragged on a bit in certain areas. I loved the idea of the plot, it's brilliant, and was carried through very well. I just really wished the book didn’t take so long to get into. I like it a lot, but I can't say I love it. A part I did love was when we saw a little cameo of Cath and Levi :') So much feels throughout that part!! -- Even though this book didn't live up to my expectations, I'll still continue to get excited and read Rainbow's books. I still very much recommend this book, if you’re into contemporary and have read her other books then you should definitely give it a go! :)

I started the beginning of this week and just haven't been in the mood to pick it back up. It's a bit slow in the beginning. I'v been told by the other group members it definitely picks up and gets way better. So I'm going to pick it back up today, and hopefully finish tomorrow! :)

We're so excited to be reading this with so many of you guys! We've received nothing but endless support from everyone, and we are so grateful and for every single one of you!

Title: Isla and the Happily Ever After
Author: Stephanie Perkins
Genre: Young Adult
Rating: 5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

I absolutely adore all these books, Stephanie Perkins is just one of the most talented authors that are out there! I really enjoyed Anna, and Lola. I didn’t think Isla could even compete with it or even come close to the love and beauty I felt for the other two but clearly I was wrong. Everything about the books Stephanie Perkins writes is perfect in every single possible way ever. She makes the stories come alive, and the way she writes, the dialogue, and how descriptive she is, makes her that much more amazing.
There are so many reasons why I fell in love with this book. The writing, is brilliant. It isn’t just words printed on a page, because the moment you read them, they invade your mind and create the most beautiful scenes. I didn’t find myself looking into the movie, but playing Isla, being her. While I did connect with Anna, and a bit of Lola I found myself completely connecting with Isla, I felt myself feeling the pain and insecurities she felt. She and I both have a boy best friend, the same scary insecurities, don’t know what we want in life/scared to figure that out, and so much more. I found myself crying so much through out the book, not just because of their relationship, but for her. I know what it feels to be lost, and not know what you want and there isn’t time to decide. But I’m so happy that she got the ending she deserves, that they both did. I adore her character, and strength. Josh, UGH I love josh so much probably more than the others. He’s honestly so perfect, in the most disastrous way. He has that dark moody artist vibe to him, and the rebelliousness is just a tad bit sexy. He’s flawed, and I love it. The book took place in three of the most beautiful cities in the world. Manhattan, Barcelona, and Paris.
I love how different this book is from the other two. Anna and Lola seemed so perfect, like nothing ever went wrong, this book is happy. It felt personal, more realistic and some how raw. There were ugly parts in this book, but those parts made this book that much more beautiful and real. The ending of the book was perfect, the ending to all the characters were. I couldn’t be happier with how the novels were completed. I only hope that we get to see more of them in the future. I hope it isn’t only me and that other agree.. Mer should definitely have her own book, in Rome! I would love to finally see her get her happily ever after! This book/series is on the top of my favorites this year! I highly recommend it and hope everyone enjoys it just as much as I did.

Rise and shine my lovelies,

Just kidding, I'm not usually this chipper in the morning. But today is a pretty damn good day for many more reasons than one! Thank you to Kelly, Ink Slinger, and Jennifer Armentrout! -- I'm sure you're all fully aware of my love for Jennifer. I am obsessed with her Lux series which is paranormal and her Wait for you series which is New Adult. If you didn't know, well you must be new to my blog..
I am so excited to bring you the Cover Reveal for Jennifer Armentrout's up coming series! The book is titled WICKED and is a part of Jennifer Armentrout’s Wicked Trilogy. Which is guess what?! A NEW ADULT PARANORMAL!!! Two of my favorites in one, it's like Cam&Avery and Katy&Daemon + Jennifer Armentrout make this big beautiful FIVE star novel! It feels like.. Christmas, and you know what's even more exciting? It's released only days before on December 8th, 2014. But make sure you pre-order it today!!

Synopsis:

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Title: Dire
Author: Alyssa Rose Ivy
Genre: New Adult, Paranormal
Rating: 4 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

I’ve never read Werewolf book before, I just didn’t think it would be my thing. I highly enjoyed twilight, but not Jacob or any of the werewolf there. So when I was asked to review the book in exchange for an ARC I agreed, wanting to give the werewolf books a chance!
The book started off a bit rough for me, I didn’t like that sex was automatically mentioned in the beginning it just seemed a bit too much and a bad first impression. I didn’t like the writing at all, and I still don’t really like it. It isn’t that large of an issue though to the point where you can’t continue. As the chapters roll by you don’t notice the writing, and you get hooked! Like you’re a fish in sea, and can’t seem to unclasp your self from the bait. The book is very addicting, I loved the dialogue between the two characters. They were so adorable and flirty, and I loved the way the just cared for one another. Things definitely take a turn in the book for a second and you kind of just look in shock like “WHAT just happened, things definitely escalate quickly!” I loved the plot, and the story line. I thought the idea is brilliant, and I love that it’s New Adult. There’s a bit of romance and paranormal which are two of my favorite things on earth!! I really wished the book could have been written a lot better because it would have been perfect.
It’s a New Adult novel, so it definitely is a bit Rated R, there’s a lot of sex.. Not written well or too detailed so it’s bearable. There’s so much twist, turns, and the plot twist are insane! I was definitely hooked while reading the book! While I highly enjoyed it I wouldn’t say I love it! But I am looking forward to the second book!! I'll definitely have more information on the book soon, and an excerpt! ;)
