Title: Origin (Lux #4)
Author: Jennifer Armentrout
Genre: SWOONEY, Young Adult
Rating: 5 | 5 PURRRR-FECT

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

I’m going to apologize now. For this is going to be a short review, for the simple fact that I cannot say anymore without giving away any spoilers. This book in specific is the absolute definition of perfect. So, I hope you you’ve read the other books, if not just go and buy them all, and you can thank me later ;) You all know my feelings towards Jennifer Armentrout so I won’t even repeat myself, because well it isn’t necessary. But if you don’t I think she’s a Queen.
I did not think my face could get any redder, but it did. I was blushing like a girl talking to her crush for the first time. This book is absolutely adorable and definitely my favorite out of every single one of them. It started off so sad and rough and I could feel every single emotion they both went through. And that’s what Jennifer does, she makes you live through everything the character does. I love that the dual character point of view was continued in this! It is amazing! I don’t know about you, but every since Obsidian I’ve been dying to get into his head. I’ve been so dang curious to see what the perfect male specimen is thinking. The connection and love just ran so much stronger in this book. Their determination and love is just so beautiful. As always, there were so many hilarious parts and the new characters are amazing!!
The writing is perfect like ALWAYS. So swooney, witty, and sarcastic. I love ever single word and sentence being said. The book definitely took a turn somewhere in this book, and it went from somewhere in between young adult and new adult. If I thought the last book was steamy, clearly I was wrong. I felt such a strong connection with this book, I found myself crying during the cute/happy parts, and just bawling like baby during the devastating parts. I hope you all read this series if you haven’t. And if you are, I really hope you enjoy it as much as I am! You can read my review on the first three books here:  Obsidian (Lux #1) Onyx (Lux #2)  Opal (Lux#3)

Title: Opal (Lux #3)
Author: Jennifer Armentrout
Genre: Young Adult, STEAMY, AWESOME (haha)
Rating: 5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

There was definitely a lot of blushing on my end of the book, I mean I loved the chase in the first two books. All the angst and sexual tension was nice and all, but damn these two as a couple are too damn adorable. Then again, Daemon Black is part of that equation so what else did we expect right? I don’t think I have to say it AGAIN, but I will. I love love love love Jennifer Armentrout. She is definitely my number one favorite Author. She’s damn brilliant, I love every single thing about her writing. Every character she writes is different, and every book is pure gold.
This book definitely wasn’t as intense as the last one. It had its moments but wasn’t like Onyx where every single moment was like the characters were hanging by a thread over a cliff. This was a bit more calm, and steamy. *eyebrow wiggle* It was definitely more about their relationship with everyone and a lot of testing was being done with one another.. Going into this book I didn’t think the characters would change so much but they did. Daemon shows us his sensitive side, Dee’s angry (which is rare), Ash and Andrew have emotions (who knew right?) etc.. The writing and the dialogue is probably ever better than the first two books! UGH, I’m just obsessed with this series. I might need therapy when I finish the books.
This book is painful, not a spoiler but a warning. You’ll be in this happy place reading it, because they’re finally together, like together together. And you can tell their both in love and happy. Things in both their lives are getting better, friendships are starting to mend again. Then the book takes this turn, into a really dark place and you’re left like this: My only suggestion to you is to buy Origin before you finish this book, because you will want to jump right into it. Sorry for my vagueness in this review, I can’t really say much without giving anything away. But have a few rolls of tissues, booze, whatever will make you feel better. Like always I will forever recommend this series! If you haven’t read the first two books, you can read my review here: Obsidian (Lux #1) Onyx (Lux #2)

Title: Landline
Author: Rainbow Rowell
Genre: Adult, Contemporary
Rating: 3.5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Mini Review:

I absolutely like this book. It started off weak for me, and I couldn’t pick the book up for a full week because of the boredom I went through while trying to read the first few chapters. I had to stop and push myself to keep going. A lot of people I’ve spoken to said that it does get better, and they weren’t wrong. It did get better, not a lot better than the beginning but it improved. I really wish this book didn’t disappoint me, but I guess I was expecting too much. With a lot of Rainbow’s books I find myself bored in the first ten chapters, but after that it gets better. And to me, ten chapters is a lot, I would understand three, or even five to get us introduced to the world and appreciating it. BUT not ten. While I love Rainbow’s writing, I guess I just don’t appreciate her pace and maybe her books just aren’t for me. I guess I’m more of an Action loving kind of girl.
It  was very cute throughout the whole thing. It had great dialogue, but dragged on a bit in certain areas. I loved the idea of the plot, it's brilliant, and was carried through very well. I just really wished the book didn’t take so long to get into. I like it a lot, but I can't say I love it. A part I did love was when we saw a little cameo of Cath and Levi :') So much feels throughout that part!! -- Even though this book didn't live up to my expectations, I'll still continue to get excited and read Rainbow's books. I still very much recommend this book, if you’re into contemporary and have read her other books then you should definitely give it a go! :)

Good evening my loves,

I am currently reading Landline by the brilliant Rainbow Rowell. This is the September book pick by the Bookish Beauties Book Club on Goodreads!

I started the beginning of this week and just haven't been in the mood to pick it back up. It's a bit slow in the beginning. I'v been told by the other group members it definitely picks up and gets way better. So I'm going to pick it back up today, and hopefully finish tomorrow! :)

We're so excited to be reading this with so many of you guys! We've received nothing but endless support from everyone, and we are so grateful and for every single one of you!

Title: Isla and the Happily Ever After
Author: Stephanie Perkins
Genre: Young Adult
Rating: 5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

I absolutely adore all these books, Stephanie Perkins is just one of the most talented authors that are out there! I really enjoyed Anna, and Lola. I didn’t think Isla could even compete with it or even come close to the love and beauty I felt for the other two but clearly I was wrong. Everything about the books Stephanie Perkins writes is perfect in every single possible way ever. She makes the stories come alive, and the way she writes, the dialogue, and how descriptive she is, makes her that much more amazing.
There are so many reasons why I fell in love with this book. The writing, is brilliant. It isn’t just words printed on a page, because the moment you read them, they invade your mind and create the most beautiful scenes. I didn’t find myself looking into the movie, but playing Isla, being her. While I did connect with Anna, and a bit of Lola I found myself completely connecting with Isla, I felt myself feeling the pain and insecurities she felt. She and I both have a boy best friend, the same scary insecurities, don’t know what we want in life/scared to figure that out, and so much more. I found myself crying so much through out the book, not just because of their relationship, but for her. I know what it feels to be lost, and not know what you want and there isn’t time to decide. But I’m so happy that she got the ending she deserves, that they both did. I adore her character, and strength. Josh, UGH I love josh so much probably more than the others. He’s honestly so perfect, in the most disastrous way. He has that dark moody artist vibe to him, and the rebelliousness is just a tad bit sexy. He’s flawed, and I love it. The book took place in three of the most beautiful cities in the world. Manhattan, Barcelona, and Paris.
I love how different this book is from the other two. Anna and Lola seemed so perfect, like nothing ever went wrong, this book is happy. It felt personal, more realistic and some how raw. There were ugly parts in this book, but those parts made this book that much more beautiful and real. The ending of the book was perfect, the ending to all the characters were. I couldn’t be happier with how the novels were completed. I only hope that we get to see more of them in the future. I hope it isn’t only me and that other agree.. Mer should definitely have her own book, in Rome! I would love to finally see her get her happily ever after! This book/series is on the top of my favorites this year! I highly recommend it and hope everyone enjoys it just as much as I did.

Rise and shine my lovelies,

Just kidding, I'm not usually this chipper in the morning. But today is a pretty damn good day for many more reasons than one! Thank you to Kelly, Ink Slinger, and Jennifer Armentrout! -- I'm sure you're all fully aware of my love for Jennifer. A NEW ADULT PARANORMAL!!! Two of my favorites in one, it's like Cam&Avery and Katy&Daemon + Jennifer Armentrout make this big beautiful FIVE star novel! It feels like.. Christmas, and you know what's even more exciting? It's released only days before on December 8th, 2014. But make sure you pre-order it today!!

Synopsis:

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Title: Dire
Author: Alyssa Rose Ivy
Genre: New Adult, Paranormal
Rating: 4 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

I’ve never read Werewolf book before, I just didn’t think it would be my thing. I highly enjoyed twilight, but not Jacob or any of the werewolf there. So when I was asked to review the book in exchange for an ARC I agreed, wanting to give the werewolf books a chance!
The book started off a bit rough for me, I didn’t like that sex was automatically mentioned in the beginning it just seemed a bit too much and a bad first impression. I didn’t like the writing at all, and I still don’t really like it. It isn’t that large of an issue though to the point where you can’t continue. As the chapters roll by you don’t notice the writing, and you get hooked! Like you’re a fish in sea, and can’t seem to unclasp your self from the bait. The book is very addicting, I loved the dialogue between the two characters. They were so adorable and flirty, and I loved the way the just cared for one another. Things definitely take a turn in the book for a second and you kind of just look in shock like “WHAT just happened, things definitely escalate quickly!” I loved the plot, and the story line. I thought the idea is brilliant, and I love that it’s New Adult. There’s a bit of romance and paranormal which are two of my favorite things on earth!! I really wished the book could have been written a lot better because it would have been perfect.
It’s a New Adult novel, so it definitely is a bit Rated R, there’s a lot of sex.. Not written well or too detailed so it’s bearable. There’s so much twist, turns, and the plot twist are insane! I was definitely hooked while reading the book! While I highly enjoyed it I wouldn’t say I love it! But I am looking forward to the second book!! I'll definitely have more information on the book soon, and an excerpt! ;)

This is going to be such a sad reading weekend for me, since it is my weekend at work which means double shifts through out both days..

But on a better note, I'm currently reading Isla and the Happily Ever After! I've been waiting for this book in the mail for weeks and it's finally came in yesterday which is the day I started.

I have nothing but utter adoration for this book. I'm head over heels in love with Josh and Isla. Their love is so refreshing, and breath taking.

If you haven't read this or the other two companion novels before this! I highly suggest you do and in order! <3

Title: Second Chance Summer
Author: Morgan Matson
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary
Rating: 5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:
I have loved to my hearts greatest extent all of Morgan Matson’s books. There’s not a single book, or page I’ve read that has disappointed me. I don’t think I can say anymore than I already have. I’ve spoken about two Morgan Matson books already and my love for them I feel like I’m all out of words. Still I’m completely speechless with how this book left me.
Second Chance Summer is definitely my favorite out of everything she’s ever written. This one is different, it isn’t a self discovery, but a self growth. (Does that make sense?) Taylor isn’t necessarily lost, she’s confused and scared. I felt really attached to Taylor. I can completely relate to Taylor in ways I didn’t know I could with a fictional character. She and I have gone through the same struggles, and have gone face to face with our greatest fear, which is losing someone you love and etc.. Like in all her books, the character growth is spectacular. It’s slow but progresses strongly. It was so beautiful to watch Taylor go from this scared girl, to someone so outspoken and brave/courageous.
Morgan Matson’s writing, is just as exquisite as it was in the other two books, or even better. Nothing is ever left to your imagination. She writes the books so vividly you don’t need to think about it, you just see it. It all flows so well and beautifully!! I highly suggest you go out and buy the book. Even if you don’t know what it is about, just buy it and dive in! You won’t regret it. You will fall in love with the words, setting, and you will appreciate all that you have and who you have. If you’ve read her other work and loved  it, you will definitely love this just as much or even more. Morgan Matson your work is breathtaking.

Title: Ugly Love
Author: Colleen Hoover
Genre: Romance, Adult
Rating: 4 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

This book definitely met most of my expectations, but then again I already knew it would. Colleen Hoover wrote it, so of course it would be great. I have such mixed emotions for with this book, I love it and hate it, but like always, the book is beautifully written. It had exceptional dialogue. What makes it different from her other books is this definitely has way more sex, it’s an Adult book. Their are interchanging chapters, Tate the MFC and Miles the MMC, Tate’s chapters are of the present while Miles is of his past from six years ago. Slowly throughout his chapter you learn why he’s so broken, and through those chapters you could really feel his pain.
Broken characters are my thing, I love them to death because they usually have the best character development. I didn’t feel that with Miles, and his chapters and pain can’t excuse the way he treated Tate. This book is a crazy emotional roller coaster. I most definitely am not okay with Miles and his need for validation from his ex lover to move on it's just messed up, especially for the great girl Tate that's in love with you. It really was an ugly love. Despite all that, I still loved the book, the ending was great, and the beginning and middle. I just really wish he could have moved on himself without the help from his ex. The book is so emotionally exhausting and conflicting. I can’t give the book five stars because it didn’t grip me, and there was no character growth with Miles. I do suggest this as a read, maybe you’ll have a different opinion.

Title: Guardian
Author: Courtney Cole
Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal
Rating: 5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

Courtney Cole is fucking phenomenal! Her way with words is so unique and captivating. She's an extremely talented writer and I am so happy to have been given the chance to review this book. There wasn’t one point in the book where I was bored or disappointed. Everything about this story was unique and so well translated. It’s definitely the best demon/angel topic I’ve ever read bout. Growing up in a Christian home I’ve heard so many stories about all the fallen angels, and my brother being the curious cat he is fell in love with the subject. So I grew up hearing about it. I loved reading the story and understanding it all, knowing the angels and who/what they are before it is explained. The amount of research and work she did to make sure this book is accurate definitely shows. Nothing about this book is lacking. Not from the writing or the characters, nothing!

I fell in love with her writing by the time I finished reading her dedication. My face was tear stained, then I read the first chapter and I felt like I was drowning in myself. Courtney Cole’s writing can only be described as supreme. It’s so descriptive, addicting and is definitely different from other authors! You might as well call this a movie because it didn’t feel like a book. Not to me, every chapter turned into a scene and it just continued to play the best movie I’ve ever seen.

  • Brady: Is definitely one of the sweetest guys I’ve ever had the pleasure to read about. He had this way with words where he could seduce you into anything. The simplest things came out of his mouth, and just sounded so beautiful. “I hope I’m not being rude. I just can’t stop thinking about you.”  He was a damn dream, blonde/brownish hair with piercing blue eyes and the built body of a football player. Yeah he’s definitely a dangerous combination ;)
  • Whitney: Bless this book because people because we have a strong heroine from the beginning. Yep, she’s strong and she pretty much just gets stronger and stronger throughout the story. So there is definitely some character growth! I loved her character, after all the pain she has went through she still manages to stand up and be the adult. So fast, she takes on all the responsibility to let other grieve so she put her grieving aside. She’s extremely selfless! I really loved that she knew when to accept someone  or herself needed help, and wouldn’t hesitate to ask for it.

I now feel the need to go out and buy all her books!! Through out the whole the book the saying “not everything is what is seems”  is told to whitney. After finishing the book, I think it’s more towards us than it is for her. I loved the theme of everything happens for a reason because I truly do believe that. I suggest no one tries to figure this book out, just love it and enjoy it because that BIG BANG will come and you might just get smacked with it if you aren’t careful. So many great plot twist, and details. I adored the ending, and this whole book! It’s definitely a favorite of mine! I highly suggest everyone goes out and buys it! It’s so captivating, keeps you on edge, and makes you swoon beyond belief. Hope you all love it as much as I do!

Title: Ignite
Author: Lily Paradis
Genre: Young Adult/NewAdult
Rating: 4.5 | 5

Synopsis: Goodreads

Review:

There are times after I finish a book where I need a whole day before I write a review. To collect my thoughts and properly review it to the best of my ability.. But this one is special. I feel like it can’t wait. I have so many things going through my head, and so many thought that need to be expressed right NOW. This is my first book by Lily Paradis, I’ve never read any of her work before, and I am so happy I got a chance to read this. I am so in love with it, and the characters, everything flowed so beautifully. I’m already can’t wait to learn more about Arclight. I’m patiently waiting trying to contain my inner fangirl and keep her in check. Plus, this author is incredibly sweet, and I just wish you all would read this book. If I could I would stand outside all day passing out copies of the book!
The story didn’t start off too strong for me. I wasn’t completely sold in the beginning. I had a few minor issues: I felt like I was just thrown into the book, trying to figure out and gauge what is going on. No character background or anything, the writing in the beginning was more ‘tell than show’ if you get what I’m saying.
But damn, as I continued to read, I fell in love with it. Everything about it drew me in, and completely captivated me. It wasn’t just the hot, tall, blue eyed enigma that kept me turning the page but the writing. The writing progressed so beautifully as the book continued. I could see the words slowly flying off the page and creating a beautiful movie in my head. I love the chase in this book, how it started off as a friendship and just slowly progressed. It was so wonderful!
  • Dean, this guys is a dream. He’s different from any guy I’ve read about. It’s also very obvious how completely in love he is from the beginning and I loved that. Slowly he starts changing, making himself a better person for Lauren and the kids. I ALSO loved his relationship with Emma. Seriously any guy that’s great with kids like that can have my heart. Dean definitely has a special place with me! <3
  • Lauren is definitely one of the sweetest, almost perfect characters I’ve read about. She had red hair, and is just hot. She’s a good friend, sister, and girlfriend. She’s extremely caring and does the right thing for everyone.
Over all, I loved it. Everything from the witty, flirt dialogue between the characters, to all the pain and mess they went through. I think this is the perfect transition book from Young Adult, to New Adult. It doesn’t have the teenage vibe, but doesn’t have the overly horny college kids. It’s a perfect balance, and it definitely had a very special place in my heart. Everybody better watch out, because Lily definitely has an amazing future ahead of her. I can’t wait for Arclight (which is IGNITE told in Dean’s point of view)! I HIGHLY suggest everyone checks this book out, and adds it to their goodreads!

Thank you very much to Lily, and Elia! <33
